BAGUIO
CITY -- The Supreme Court denied with finality dismissed Philippine Military
Academy cadet Jeff Aldrin Cudia’s appeal for reconsideration of the high tribunal’s Feb. 24, 2015 ruling of his case.
Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te
announced the decision April 14 after the Court held its regular en banc summer
session in this city.
The Court also denied petitioner-intervenors’
(Cudia’s mother and sister) motion for
reconsideration with motion to submit case for oral argument.
Te said under the rules, a second motion for
reconsideration will no longer be entertained by the high court.
The SC ruled in its Feb. 24, 2015 ruling
upholding action of PMA in dismissing Cudia from institution for violating its
honor code.
It ruled the PMA was right in imposing
penalty of dismissal on Cudia for the violation.
In 2014, Cudia lied about his explanation for
his tardiness in class, an act that the committee of cadets said violated the
honor code of the military institution.
Cudia was supposed to graduate with
“Siklab Diwa” Class of 2014. Recently he passed the University of the Philippines’
law aptitude examination but this is pending until he would have a college
diploma.
