Laoag engineer nabbed for guns

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – An engineer was arrested following a raid on his house that resulted in the seizure of several firearms in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte May 24.

Albino Pedro of the Laoag City engineering office reportedly yielded two rifles, a 9mm pistol, a caliber .45 pistol and bullets, said Chief Superintendent Roman Felix, Region 1 police director.

“We will subject the firearms to crossmatching to determine if these were used in shooting incidents in the province,” Felix said.

The raid on Pedro’s house in Barangay 37 was based on a warrant issued by Pangasinan Judge Renato Pinlac. – Jun Elias
