Cops name suspect in P1 million Agoo treasuryrobbery

AGOO, La Union – Police here have identified the suspect in the P1-million robbery that hit the municipal treasurer’s office last March 13.

Police Chief Insp. Artemio Infante, said witnesses identified the suspect as Mhark Garcia Saavedra, 33, with two given addresses in 45 CPG North Ave., Cogon, Tagbilaran City, Bohol; and Sto. Niño St., Provincial Rd., Barangay Gulwanon, Baclayon, Bohol, after he appeared in a court hearing in connection with a robbery case in Bacoor, Cavite recently.

According to Infante, the witnesses, pointed Saavedra because he was regularly seen at the municipal hall.

The robbery was reported to the police morning of March 16 by personnel after discovering the municipal treasurer’s office of Wilma Ballesil-Suniega, was ransacked.

Agoo policemen said the alleged suspect barged into the office at dawn, on March 13, which was a Friday.

With the aid of a CCTV camera, they saw the suspect forcibly open the door to the treasurer’s office where he went on to take an Apple laptop worth P70,000 and about P1 million in cash.
