Politician charged for murder of mayor’s ally

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A politician from Isabela has been charged with murder for the killing of an aide of a municipal mayor.

The charges against Noel Reyes, village chief of Colunguan in Sto. Tomas town, was filed with the local office of the Department of Justice late last week, according to Isabela police director Senior Supt. Leon Rafael.

Reyes and his 13 supporters were charged for the fatal shooting of John-John Laggui, an aide of Sto. Tomas Mayor Leandro Talaue, in Barangay San Rafael Abajo on Jan. 7.
