DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Chief Supt Robert Guzman Quenery, PNP Health
Service Director awarded Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta (PNP Disaster Relief
and Rehabilitation Medal) to seven police officers here Wednesday.
Awarded were Chief Inspectors Jacquiline E.
Honrado and Richard Harry V. Doza, SPO2 Artemio L Fontanilla, Jr.; PO3s Jimmy A
Alinao and Julius M Liis and PO2s Jed A Arrieta and Hans Quenell A. Vergara for
“dedication, commitment and outstanding performance to duty during the search
and rescue operations” conducted during and after Typhoons Karen and Lawin.
“Their sacrifices manifested the highest professional ideals of the PNP that
drew optimism and inspiration among public servants,” Quenery said.
Quenery also expressed gratitude
for the support that PRO-COR extended to
his office. He said be brought advanced ECG apparatus, weighing machines and
others. The said equipment will be used by PRO for health services to
Cordillera folks.
Jeep falls off Baguio
ravine; 1 dead, 5 hurt
BAGUIO CITY -- – A
man died while five others were injured when their jeepney plunged into a
ravine in Barangay Atok trail here morning of Nov. 13
Henry Lucao was pronounced dead on arrival at the Baguio
City General Hospital, where Rose Sabkian, Marissa Villanueva, Cristopher
Mario, Rex Paterno and Daisylyn Gregorio were also taken for treatment.Senior
Insp. Blaisandrew Daoanis, Baguio City Station 4 chief, said the driver of the
jeepney, Bonireck Verceles lost control of the wheel when the brake
malfunctioned.Verceles is being held at the police station.
Man shot dead by rider
aboard motorcycle
TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Cops responded to a shooting incident here
Wednesday around 8:30 a.m. along Bonifacio Street, Dagupan West wherein one Jimmy Sindanum Ordonia, 31, was
shot by two men riding in tandem on a
motorcycle. Initial investigation disclosed that the victim and unidentified
companion were walking at said street when the suspects followed him.
The
back rider got down from the motorcycle and shot the victim several times.
After the incident, the suspect accelerated their motorcycle heading south
direction of Bonifacio Street. The victim sustained eight gunshot wound on
different parts of his body. Victim was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial
Hospital by ambulance for medical treatment but later expired while undergoing
medical treatment.
Recovered
from crime scene were cartridge of Cal. 45 containing six bullets, bullet for
Cal. 45, three empty shells of Cal. 45 and bull cap of the victim.
Village councilman nabbed for shabu
BAGUIO
CITY -- A “high value target drug
personality” was arrested here when his house was searched here Tuesday. A
council member of Barangay Bakakeng Central identified as Prudencio Cornelio Miranda Jr., was
arrested in his residence at km 3 Marcos Highway following search warrant
issued by executive judge Emmanuel Cacho Rasing,
Seized from his residence were sachets
containing suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Tadian councilor hurt in Naguillan
road accident
SABLAN,
Benguet – A municipal councilor of Tadian, Mountain Province was seriously hurt
when he fell asleep while driving along Naguillan Road here Monday around 3:45
p.m.
A police report said the incident happened here at Suyoc, Banangan involving a colored silver Hyundai Starex
Van with plate number BDV 147, owned and driven at that time by Adolf
Dapdapig Balangoy.
Investigation disclosed the driver
who was driving alone was descending
towards La Union when he fell asleep and was not able to control the
steering wheel of the vehicle which went to the right side of the road and hit
a riprap damaging the vehicle.
Balangoy
who was injured on his right foot, left hand and nose was rushed to Baguio
General Hospital for treatment.
Abra native shot in Bulacan ‘shoot-out”
SAN JUAN, Abra -- The listed Top 5
in the PDEA watch list of this town was shot to death after he resisted
the arrest and fired at cops in Barangay Gaya-haya, CSJDM, Bulacan on Nov. 11.
Prior to the death of the suspect, Abra
police in coordination with Bulacan cops and PDEA conducted buy-bust operation
against Jaime Oseo Guipa, 43,
in Barangay Graceville, CSJDM.
Suspect was reportedly about to be arrested when he
suddenly resisted and drew his firearm and fired at one of the operatives that
prompted the police officer to retaliate causing his instant death.
Bulacan police found sachet containing suspected
shabu worth P7,200, some 10 pieces transparent plastic sachet containing shabu
residue; assorted drug paraphernalia, Cal. 22 revolver loaded with one fired
cartridge case and two bulletsm five
fired Cal. 9mm slugs, motorcycle and
P500 marked money.
9 hurt in Calanasan, Apayao road accident
CALANASAN,
Apayao – Nine persons were injured when the passenger jeep they were riding in
lost its brakes and and crashed and tilted on the roadside here around 8:30
a.m. Nov. 12 along km 42 at Barangay Eva Puzon.
The jeep, owned by Perfecto D. Marrero and
driven by Jomacar Piano Juan, 33 had passengers: Rosebelle Sipsip Pascua,
Bermont Sipsip Pascua, Blessie Solmayor, Benjamin Agubo Puglay, Casinta Supil
Puglay, Andie Dawel Pacio, Lolen Malana Ching, Angel Romero and Heper Lanog.
All were injured brought to Claveria Infirmary Clinic at Claveria, Cagayan. The
owner of the jeep promised to pay all medical expenses of the victims.
Burnham buy-bust nets
2 drug group members
BAGUIO
CITY -- Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
Cordillera together with local police arrested two members of a local drug
group in a sting operation along Lake Drive, Burnham Park here Wednesday night.
Jamael Samson Magoraba alias Akmad, 24, of
Marawi City, Lanao del Sur and presently residing at Apugan, Poliwes , Baguio
together with his 17-year old male cohort were arrested when they sold a
heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu to a PDEA-CAR agent worth P5,000.
Both suspects are members of a local drug
group that is operating in Baguio City and nearby Benguet province. They are now temporarily detained at the
PDEA-CAR detention facility and will be facing a case of violation of Section
5, Article II of Republic Act Number 9165 also known as "The Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002".
Tricycle driver,
passenger hurt in Bontoc accident
BONTOC,
Mountain Province – A tricycle driver and his passenger were seriously injured
here Nov. 13 when the vehicle overturned when it hit the protruding tire of a
Wrangler Jeep.
Police said the incident happened around 6:15
p.m. when it was getting dark along the national road fronting Ut-utan
residence, Lower Caluttit, Poblacion. Victim Alice Pangod Loy-od, 60, rode the
tricycle, owned by Rommel L. Manao and driven by Robert Caniete De la Cruz, 24,
native of Bacolod City but presently staying here at Barangay Samoki. Interview
with the victim revealed after the tricycle bumped the jeep’s tire, the
tricycle fell on the driver’s side, causing the passenger’s head to smash the
windshield of the sidecar that made her unconscious. Both passenger and driver
were brought to Bontoc General Hospital for treatment while the tricycle was
brought to Bontoc police station for
safekeeping.
Young man
nabbed in Lamut videoke bar with marijuana
LAMUT, Ifugao – An 18-year-old man
was taken into custody after he was caught in possession of dried marijuana
leaves inside a videoke bar here in Poblacion West on Nov. 12. Police didn’t identify the resident
of Barangay Umilag who earlier offered
the informant to buy marijuana leaves but the latter made an alibi to be able
to call the police who also found marijuana leaves placed in a plastic bag
inside a back pack.
Vehicle stolen in Baguio City
BAGUIO CITY – A certain John Bedonia
Aquino, 26, storekeeper, of No. 619 Purok 13 Irisan Barangay, called station 9
Wednesday and reported that their white Honda Civic with plate number AEC 437
parked unattended beside their establishment was carnapped.
Investigation
disclosed that they closed their establishment at around 2:10 a.m. of same date and went to sleep while their
vehicle was parked beside their residence. At around 11 a.m., King Aquino
younger brother of John discovered that said vehicle was missing from its
parking space.
Tricycle driver stabbed dead by construction worker
BANGUED, Abra – A tricycle driver
was stabbed dead by a construction worker here Monday around 9 p.m. at Sitio Bacsil, Dangdangla.
The victim was identified as Dexter Millare, 30, while the suspect
was named as Sherwin Navarro Vasquez,
40, married. Both were residents of Bacsil.
Investigation conducted by Bangued police
disclosed the victim, together with Fredie Navarro Vasquez and Samuel Bernal,
had a drinking session at the house of Rollie Bernal.
After a while, Fredie and Millare had a heated
argument. While arguing, Sherwin arrived
and, without any apparent reason, stabbed the victim several times. As a
result, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds on his left chest and back.
He was rushed by his relatives to Seares Memorial
Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. The
suspect was arrested by responding cops. Confiscated from him was a kitchen
knife used in stabbing the victim.
10 teens bring havoc on house
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A group of
around 10 male and female
teenagers wrought havoc on the
house of a catechist here by stealing money, eating cooked rice, drinking
canned juice and soda from refrigerator and helping themselves to oranges they
picked from trees in the compound.
A
police report said the incident happened Monday at a house in Bektey, Puguis
here owned by Violeta Rivera Bagbagen, 56, widow, farmer and catechist of San
Jose Parish.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim left their house and discovered later her things were
in disarray. The teenagers also stole jewelry, coins from her coin bank and
perfume. Remedios Toctocan Sagyod, 53, occupant of a neighboring house revealed
that she saw more than 10 teenagers coming up from the way going to the house
and went to the direction of Barangay Wangal. She thought they were visitors
of Bagbagen so she didn’t call police.
Police lifted four finger prints from the house.
Marijuana burned at Buguias mountain
BUGUIAS,
Benguet -- Lawmen burned marijuana at plantation
here Nov. 12 at Sitio Pamuspuso,
Baculongan Sur. Cops in coordination with the barangay kagawad of Baculungan
Sur eradicated 600 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P6,000.
Baguio drug peddlers
arrested
BAGUIO
CITY -- -- Two alleged drug peddlers of whom is
a minor, were simultaneously nabbed in a buy bust operation here along Lake
Drive, Burnham-Legarda Barangay Wednesday night.
Cops arrested the suspects
identified as Jamael Samson “Akmad”
Magoraba, 24, and a 17-year-old
minor, both residents of Apugan, Puliwes.
Confiscated from their
possession were “shabu” weighing around two grams worth P5,000, and buy
bust money of P5,000.
Two men shot in Lagawe
LAGAWE, Ifugao – A shooting incident
transpired here at Pawikan Street, Poblacion East Monday around 3:30 p.m. A
certain Ms.Bugatti told police she heard gun fire and that she was nearly hit
by stray bullet. Residents told cops two victims were rushed to Natuwolan
Clinic by concerned citizens. One was identified as Tonton Alangwawi who was shot at his breast and his face
while the other victim was named as Dennis
Lunag who was also shot at his lower left breast.Lunag was
unconscious at press time.
Investigation
disclosed that Alangwawi was brought to the clinic by one
Julius Gulgulway while the other victim was brought to the health facility by Pericles
Galap with his companions who were passing by the crime scene when someone
flagged down his multi-cab vehicle.
Man stabbed dead in drinking session
BANGUED, Abra -- A man was
stabbed here Monday around midnight at Barangay Cabuloan identified as Jonel Bolaňos, resident of Bucay town.
The suspect was identified as Jefrel
Regonton, of Barangay Bangbangar.
Police investigation disclosed that Jonel Bolaňos, Jefrel Regonton and Ryan Calibuso had a
drinking session at a birthday part, at the house of Bernard Castillo, 32,
teacher and resident of Barangay Cabuloan.
After a while, Calibuso and Regonton had a heated
argument resulted to a fist fight. Bolaňos tried
to pacify them but Regonton
stabbed the victim.
Bolanos was stabbed in different parts of his body.
He was rushed by his relatives to Seares Memorial Hospital, Bangued but was
declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident. Responding
personnel of Bangued police launched manhunt agaisnt the suspect.
Guns surrendered
BANGUED, Abra – A certain Blas Baroba Pagtailan Jr., 55 here voluntarily
surrendered to cops Monday a shotgun, registered to Gabriel Valeros
Tuazon and one Cal. 22 revolver registered to Anabelle Barga Tuazon.The
firearms with expired licences wont be released until thier papers are renewed.
Baguio businessman surrenders 2 handguns
BAGUIO CITY – A certain Jerry
Danasen Pilis, 49, businessman of Lower Balsigan Barangay surrendered to cops
an M1911 pistol and Cal. 45 handgun for safekeeping until papers for these are
renewed.
Baker stabs
farmer
BUGUIAS,
Benguet – A farmer was stabbed here Nov. 13 around 4 a.m. in front of Ivory
Bulls Restaurant at Upper Abatan. The victim was identified as Ahris Dumaliw
Keliag, 22, while the suspect was Binmark Villaflor Berte, 21, baker in
Ambabag, Guinaoang, Mankayan town.
Investigation disclosed the victim and his
companion Elias Tamilan were standing at the place when the suspect together
with his two companions approached the victim and requested to light the
cigarrete of the suspect. Berte crumpled the cigarette handed to him by the
victim and suddenly stabbed the victim on his chest with the use of a
pointed wooden object and fled towards lower Abatan with his two companions.
The victim was rushed by bystanders to Bekes Emergency Hospital, Buyacaoan,
Buguias for treatment. A case for frustrated homicide was prepared against the
suspect.
