Lang-ay fest to feature MP ethnic fashion show

BONTOC, Mountain
Province -- Local weavers in the province are being notified to prepare for the
Ethnic Fashion Show first week of April as part of Lang-ay Festival.
In
past Ethnic Fashion Shows, local weavers showcased through their respective
models locally designed clothings, bags and accessories, gowns and barongs and
other wearable laced with local fabrics such as langkit.
Juliet
Lucas, provincial Trade and Industry director those interested to participate
in the event may obtain forms at the DTI office.
Local
weavers may design their own products with themselves as models. But they may
also invite other models to showcase their respective finished products.
Meanwhile,
the provincial steering committee formed to prepare for the commemoration of
the 50th foundation anniversary of the province and Lang-ay Festival had been
meeting since launching of twin events in October 29, 2016.
The
Lang-ay Festival this year is scheduled on April 3-9 with the 7th reserved for
the Foundation Day celebrations.
With
the theme: “Reminiscing and fostering our cultural integrity,” the twin events
endeavor to let the people of Mountain Province witness transition of the
province for the last 50 years since its separation from the old Mountain
Province in
1967.
