CAMP
OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Criminal Investigation Group revealed tip-offs to police
about drug users or pushers now come mostly from relatives of suspects who have
grown tired of the drug menace creeping in their families.
Chief Insp. Rommel Labalan, Pampanga CIDG
chief, said their recent apprehensions of suspected drug peddlers were actually
reported by the suspects’ relatives.
“Sa totoo lang, mismong kamag anak na ng mga
pushers ang nagsusumbong sa amin dahil galit na sila sa pagdo-droga ng mga
suspects, and this is a big help for us (Honestly, relatives of drug pushers
are the ones who tip them off to us and that’s a big help),” said Labalan.
The most recent of these arrests were that of
Arnold Ramos, of Purok 4, Livelihood Village, Barangay San Roque Dau 1st,
Lubao, Pampanga, who yielded shabu, a gun and a grenade; and Eric Solano, a
retired master sergeant in the army who yielded a cache of high-powered guns,
grenades and ammunitions in Barangay Sto Rosario, Floridablanca, Pampanga.
