Kagawad nabbed for guns, bullets

TAYUG, Pangasinan -- An barangay kagawad of Barangay Carriedo here was arrested for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition Act).

Police Regional Office 1 reported Tuesday that a search warrant for violation of Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition Act dated August 20, 2018 issued by Judge

Mervin Jovito S Samadan of RTC Branch 70, Burgos, Pangasinan was implemented at 2 a.m. on August 27, 2018, against Raul Lomboy Macato, 51 years old, married and a resident of Brgy. Carriedo, Tayug, Pangasinan.

Macato is an incumbent barangay kagawad of Brgy. Carriedo, Tayug, Pangasinan.

According to PCI Jose L. Abaya II, Officer-in-Charge, Tayug Police Station, recovered from the suspect were: one 7.62 ammunition, one 5.56 ammunition, one 9mm ammunition, one cal.22 ammunition and a Cal. 9mm Beretta gun replica with SN M250-HH.Said items were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office for safekeeping.

Police Chief Supt. Romulo E Sapitula, RD PRO1, reiterated that justice should be certain and shall excuse no one regardless of social status.
