P6 million cocaine found in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija

GABALDON, Nueva Ecija -- another brick of 1.19 kg cocaine with a street value of more than P6.3 million was found here in Barangay North Poblacion around 1 p.m. on Feb. 24.

According to the report of the Police Provincial Office of Nueva Ecija, a concerned citizen and resident of Barangay Poblacion North Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, discovered the brick covered in plastic and rubber tape after coming home from fetching fish in waters off Dingalan Aurora.

The resident immediately turned it over to the Gabaldon Municipal Police Station which passed it to the Nueva Ecija Crime Laboratory Office or NECLO for laboratory exam and proper disposition.

NECLO released the initial result of the laboratory examination on  Feb. 25, at 8am, which positively identified the contents of the brick as cocaine.

The brick of cocaine has been endorsed by NELCO to the National Office Crime Laboratory for confirmatory examination. – Freema Salonga-Gloria
