TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan
-- A motorcycle rider was flagged down by the Traffic Management Group here
after his back rider was caught using a “cooking pot” (kaldero) as helmet on
Monday afternoon.
Maj. Vhince
Blancad, head of the Public Order and Security Unit Tuguegarao, said the back
rider – Rodolfo Chavez Jr., a security guard, and a resident of Solana, Cagayan
– was issued a citation ticket for violating a traffic ordinance of the city.
Blancad said
Chavez was spotted by the TMG along Bonifacio Street, Poblacion, Tuguegarao,
wearing cooking pot as helmet.
“Isa pong
insulto sa batas trapiko ang ginawa ni Rodolfo at kasama nito, kaya naman
inisyuhan ng citation ticket para magmulta (What Chavez did was an insult to
traffic law, reason he was issued a citation ticket),” Blancad added.
The city has
been strictly implementing the “No helmet, no travel policy” since July 1,
2019.
Rhandy
Furigay, a security agency operations manager, said that Chavez and his company
were relieved from their posts.
They will be
suspended for at least a month to six months.
