31 wanted persons  nabbed in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Cops nabbed 31 wanted persons in Cordillera from May 30 to June 5.
Records of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division bared last week, Baguio police had the most number of arrest with 15 persons followed by Benguet and Ifugao with five arrests each.
Abra, Apayao and Kalinga recorded two arrests each.
    In Abra, Bangued police arrested Marvin SelimBorje after Corpus B Alzate, presiding judge of 1st Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 2, Bangued issued warrant for his arrest for attempted murder.
    The Baguio City Police Office revealed a joint operation of Loakan, Baguio  andMangaldan, Pangasinan police resulted in the arrest of Marilyn Bautista Espinoza for estafa.
    This, after Judge Romeo Maria Ligaya V. Itliong-Rivera of RTC, Branch. 5, Baguio City issued warrant against her.
    Meanwhile, CeasarHizon Valente was arrested by Naguilian police after Judge MelitaAmyleshaDelson Macaraeg of Municipal Trial Circuit Court, Branch 4 Baguio City issued warrant against him for physical injuries.
    Kennon Road, Baguio cops also arrested Laica Fortes Tubera for theft after Judge Emmanuel CachoRasing of RTC Branch 3, Baguio City issued warrant against her                .
Still in Baguio, police nabbed Rachelle May Canlas also for theft after Judge Emmanuel CachoRasing of RTC Branch 3 issued arrest warrant against her.

Yemeni nabbed for planting MJ in house ; P45.9-M marijuana destroyed in Benguet


CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Anti-narcotics agents destroyed marijuana leaves worth P45.9 million seized in a raid in Kibungan town on June 4.
    Cordillera police intelligence chief Col. Elmer Ragay said 12,950 marijuana plants worth P2.5 million were uprooted in SitioPalwa in Barangay Sagpat.
    While scouring adjacent areas, Ragay said policemen found 12 sacks of dried marijuana leaves, seeds and stalks worth P43.3 million.
    In Baguio City, a 21-year-old Yemeni was arrested by police operatives and anti-narcotics agents following the discovery of potted marijuana plants and dried marijuana leaves during the service of a warrant of arrest in his residence at Purok 5, Bakakeng Central recently.
    Reports submitted to Police Regional Office Cordillera Regional Director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said Hussein Muaad Hasan, alias "MuathYaf" was arrested after a search in his residence yielded three pots of fully grown marijuana and about six grams of ready to use marijuana stalks. The search warrant was obtained following the filing of a complaint by Hasan's neighbor.
    The report further stated the search was implemented by operatives of Baguio City Police Office; Regional Intelligence Unit 14, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera Administrative Region and PDEA RO1 in the presence of Councilor Willy Palicos, media representative Charles Nikko Limon of Bombo Radio and Prosecutor Oliver Prudencio, Department of Justice representative.
    Inventory of pieces of evidence was conducted onsite in the presence of the suspect and the witnesses.
    Hasan was placed in the custody of the PDEA Baguio Office pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" against him.

 

Porter arrested  for P8-K ‘shabu’ in La Trinidad

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – A porter at Trading Post here is now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165) after being arrested police and narcotics agents. here in Barangay Puguis June 7.  Cordillera police director identified the suspect as Mark John CuramengRequizo a.k.a. “John John”, 26, of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya and resident of Barangay Betag here.

Requizo was reportedly arrested after selling two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.18 grams worth P8,024 to a lawman who posed as buyer.
Police seized from, the suspect the buy-bust money and cell phone.

Present during inventory at the site were kagawad of Puguis, DionisoCadley and Prosecutor Andres Gondayao.

Requizo and confiscated items are now under the custody of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station.



Lightning kills 2 in Pangasinan

SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan –– Two men died after lightning struck them here Tuesday, police said.

The police identified the victims as Fernando Guntang, 20, and Jeric Soriano, 25.

Investigation showed the two were inside a nipa hut in the middle of a rice field when the lightning struck them around 5:30 p.m.

Their companions brought them to the Region I Medical Center in this city, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. 


Cagayan Valley’s most wanted falls

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya— Police arrested in Barangay Calapacuan in Subic last week the most wanted person in Cagayan Valley.
    Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves, regional police director, said Kristopher Mesias, 39, a fugitive for almost six years, was charged with murder in connection with the death of a South Korean citizen in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya in 2015.
    Mesias was also charged for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
    Nieves said the arrest was based on warrants issued by the Nueva Vizcaya Regional Trial Court Branch 27.
    Personnel of the Villaverde police, Nueva Vizcaya and Cagayan Valley intelligence units, Olongapo police and Special Action Force commandos served the warrants.
