Gov’t troops overrun NPA camp in Ifugao

HUNGDUAN,
Ifugao — Troops of the government’s 54th Infantry Battalion (Magilas) overran a
New People’s Army hideout and confiscated subversive materials here
in Barangay Abatan, on June 19.
Government
troops engaged the NPA’s Komiteng Larangang Gerilya camp after a 30-minute
gunbattle.
Found in the encounter site included a M16 assault rifle, seven improvised landmines, three rounds of rifle grenade, two rounds of 40mm grenade launcher ammunition, hand grenade, blasting cap, detonating switch, NPA flag, medicines and other items.
The materials were inventoried by the 54IB, Ifugao Provincial Police Office and Ifugao Provincial Crime Laboratory Office to be used as evidence against the NPAs involved in the encounter.

the community to remain vigilant in their surroundings and report the presence
