Night market seen to boost revenue of San Carlos City

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan – Mayor Julier C. Resuello bared this town has opened a night market for tax purposes and to boost the city’s economy.

The night market that commenced Oct. 30 was also part of his efforts to realize the dream of his father, the late Major Jolly who had helped bring in several investors to the city who had erected malls and business establishments.

The late Mayor Jolly, in his three consecutive terms, had accomplished several projects, including a new public market, sports areas, and many other commercial centers.

His son and successor, incumbent Mayor Julier Resuello, is now overseeing the putting up of a night market wherein people can buy fresh vegetables, fish, fruits, meat, and other basic commodities.

Vendors in the old public market and other prospective vendors are being invited and encouraged to sell in the night market, especially sellers of refreshments, and ice that will be needed by vendors of meat and fish.

The city government has advised neighboring towns in Pangasinan particularly businessmen to avail themselves of an opportunity to expand their trading activities.

“Night markets, especially this one in our city, promises to provide good business opportunities for the province’s businessmen engaged in wholesale and retail activities,” he said.

They also provide local residents with 24-hour market service that allow for more opportunities to earn decent livelihoods.


Depressed man kills self by hanging

POZORRUBIO, Pangasinan – A man who had been longing to be united with his wife who is abroad committed suicide in the comfort room of their house in Barangay Imbalbalatong here last week.

Police identified the victim as Cesar Biascan y Bautista, 50, married, jobless. He was found dead hanging from the ceiling of the comfort room with a nylon rope tied around his neck.

The body was found by certain Marivic Garcia y Tambugon, neighbor of the victim. The residents said he was suffering from severe depression.

He had been living alone in their residence as his wife had been working.

The cadaver was taken to the Llamas Funeral Homes, Poblacion District 1, Pozorrubio for autopsy examination by the municipal health officer.
