Former cop shot dead in Abra

LA PAZ, Abra – A former policeman was killed recently when he was shot at close range by an unidentified assailant in a grocery here at Barangay Canan.

Senior Supt. Alexander Pumecha, provincial police director, identified the victim as Isidro Dacuyan Panabag, 43, married of Barangay Mangip, Danglas town in the province.

Police investigation showed the victim was inside the Aquino grocery store in Canan paying for purchased grocery items at the counter when an unidentified man approached him and shot him several times at close range.

He suffered multiple bullet wounds. He died on the spot. The gunman sped away, riding a motorcycle. -- Dexter See
