After the storm
Baguio is a tourist area and the people are hospitable. No wonder typhoon Karen dropped by to say hello even if its route is at the tip of the country.
***
Heavy downpour created holes on our asphalted roads. This reminded us of the sisterhood with Hokkaido City and the carpet bombing -- hukay dito, hukay doon, butas dito, butas doon.
***
Despite the storm, Goldrich trucks are seen gathering tons of garbage for export to our sisterhood ties with Capas, Tarlac. No problem with payment because it is all factored in.
***
While solutions to the garbage issue are debated, the mayor is in Korea ……Hope the Koreans will accommodate our sanitary landfill.
***
Stonewalls collapse during storm because beauty is given more importance than strength. The Country Club riprap did not fall but two city engineers fell due to bribery a week ago.
***
The two city engineers fell for P10,000, a Bureau of Internal Revenue executive in Bontoc, Mountain Province fell for P15,000 but a Court of Appeals judge was offered P10 million. GMA was accused of bloating $164.7 million and Marcos was charged to have taken $10 billion. Do we expect a conviction?
***
Baguio ’s trash wanted by the Philippine Military Academy. Trash includes teenage gangs, pickpockets, bukas kotse and akyat bahay.
***
Balisong building closes, .opens, .closes, opens. Parang mata, pa-kor -- p kor --p.
***
Beneco lowers price, grants P500 subsidy. Baelco grants 20 percent discount to senior citizens in the botika sa barangay.
***
Bombo is the number one radio. Survey says there has never been a number two.
***
A pastor-turned- city councilor said we do not need a landfill because what we need are more MRF’s -- moral recovery facilitators.
***
Religious leaders in the city have one thing in common, they opposed the STL – anything that is sweet and tender loving.
***
Some local leaders tried to bring in the STL-PCSO…….Sa Totoo Lang - Please Come and Sustain Ourselves.
***
The illegal numbers game should be stopped says the ABC -- Association of Bingoteng Chieftains
