URDANETA CITY-- Department of Public Work and High Ways Region I Director Mariano R. Alquiza said instructions have been issued to Pangasinan 3rd District Engineer Leopoldo F. Mendoza to hasten the road widening project here.
Alquiza said contractors of the widening of the Urdaneta section of the Manila North Road should work double time to enable them to finish the infrastructure work as soon as possible.
“Complaints have reached his office about the long delay of the road-widening project,” he said. “The delay is due to the right-of-way problem, and I will personally approach the owners of the right-of-way lots to solve the problem.”
Alquiza said the project will decongest heavy traffic on the Manila North Road going to the Ilocos and Cordillera regions as well as traffic on the other lanes going to Manila.
He said best effort will be exerted to complete the project as school opening is fast approaching, saying the work will be given top priority and strictly monitored so that work will be done immediately.
