2 drug syndicate members nabbed

BAGUIO CITY -- A member of a notorious local drug syndicate in the Cordillera was arrested with his runner during a buy-bust anti-drug operation Feb. 23 here at Sgt. Floresca St., Aurora Hill Proper.

Joseph Merlin Bermudez Domingo IV alias “Biboy”, 45, married, jobless, resident of Ledesma St. , Aurora Hill Proper City and Ferdinand Boado Carmelo alias “Diane”, 41, married, beautician and resident of 14, San Luis Village were nabbed at around 9:30 with two sachets of shabu weighing 0.18 gram, valued at P2,000.

One of the sachets was sold by “Biboy” to one of the anti-narcotics agents who posed as buyer, while the other sachet was given off by “Diane” when both were frisked later by the seizing & arresting officers.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency– Cordillera had recorded two previous arrests of “Biboy” but during this latest detention, he was reportedly bragging this was actually his fourth time to be apprehended for drug-related violations.

“Biboy”, who was also in the target list of drug personalities in the Cordillera had just came out from an eight-month imprisonment at city jail.

He was nabbed Jan. 7 after he sold 0.09 gram of shabu to a PDEA agent at Assumption Rd. , Kabayanihan, but was acquitted on Sept. 9.

Earlier, on Nov. 4, 2004, he was apprehended at Gabriela Silang also in the city where he sold three grams of shabu to a PDEA agent.

The case was dismissed on Jan. 28, 2005.

Biboy’s wife, Mimbla D. Domingo alias “Mae”, was also nabbed on Nov. 24, 2004 after selling 1.8 grams of shabu to a PDEA agent.

The case was dismissed nearly a year later, on Oct. 10, 2005.

Similarly, Biboy’s sister, Heidi Bermudez Domingo, was apprehended by PDEA drug enforcement officers in a buy-bust operation on Nov. 18, 2008 in the city.

A gram of shabu was confiscated from her. She was acquitted almost nine months later, on August 12, 2009.

Meanwhile, PDEAs agent arrested a rape suspect listed as number two in the unit’s watch list of drug personalities in Baguio Feb. 13 at City Camp Central.

He was identified as Carlito Abat Udan, 56, married, high school level, laborer/ farmer, native of San Juan , La Union and resident of 109 City Camp Central, Baguio.
