BAGUIO CITY -- The bloody murder of a 60-year-old grandmother and her two nieces, both minors, who were stabbed dead Sunday night here at Canario St, Dizon Subdivision was solved with the arrest Thursday of a 15-year-old boy by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation and police in the Cordillera.
The suspect is now incarcerated at the NBI headquarters here.
Earlier, Abra board member Ramon Dickson called on Chief Supt. Orlando Pestano, regional police director, to bring the suspected butchers in jail since all victims were women and innocent people of Abra.
Investigation showed the dead bodies of Brigida Baro, 60 and her two nieces-a-17 year-old girl and a-15 year-old girl- both students at St.. Louis College University and
St. Louis High School, were sprawled dead with multiple stab wounds in their bodies.
The 15-year-old victim was possibly raped or attempted to be raped by the suspects since her underwear was torn off and was half-naked when found by her relatives.
A police team led by Supt. Rodrigo Leal, was earlier called to investigate the crime scene where the victims were renting an apartment at Canario St. to investigate whether the two young girls were raped or not.
Police said at about 10 p.m., Lemuel Nadarisay, who lived in nearby Trancoville, went to the apartment of his relatives after no one was answering his calls.
He then asked policemen from PNP station 2 to assist him at the 4th floor of the house at 2 Canario St and upon reaching said place, they were met by Glaiza Porte, 26, single, housemaid.
Porte informed them the victims’ room was locked and despite her knocks nobody answered which prompted them to forcibly open the door.
They then discovered the bodies of Nadarisay’s 17 year old relative, a first year college student at St Louis University, while lying at her right was the 15 year old relative, a third year high school student at St. Louis High School who was found half naked with torn underwear lowered on her legs.
Baro, was found lying facing the floor. The three are all from Bangued, Abra.
Police said all victims sustained multiple stab wounds in different parts of their bodies. No forced entry was noticed and all their valuables were intact, giving the police a theory that the suspects were known to the victims. – With a report from Mar T. Supnad
