Lacwasan: Upped barangay support needed for Mt Prov

BAUKO, Mountain Province - Vice gubernatorial candidate Bonifacio Lacwasan considers support for barangays of utmost importance by further increasing provincial aid for barangay local government units.
The former president of Liga ng mga Barangay- Mountain Province Chapter from 1997 to 2007, said increasing aid to the 144 barangays will increase barangay services as well.
Lacwasan as president of Liga ng mga barangay-Mountain Province and member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, earlier authored a resolution increasing provincial aid per barangay from P1,000 to P5,000.
The former member of the legislative board also authored the increase of provincial aid of P100,000 to 200,000 to the establishment of the new barangay of Pudo, Natonin in 1994.
Lacwasan has also been adjudged Gawad barangay awardee of Liga nga mga Barangay sa Pilipinas in 2002.
His cause for barangay development traces to his leadership as punong barangay from 1997 to 2007 in his hometown in Otucan Sur, Bauko and President of Liga ng mga Barangay of Bauko municipality. His public service include among others the spearheading of a resolution providing equal distribution of P40,000 from the municipal development funds to each barangay of Bauko.
In his bid for the vice gubernatorial position, Lacwasan also said he supports the expansion of scholarship opportunities not only in Mountain Province State Polytechnique College (MPSPC) but also in other schools. This, through legislating the increase of provincial aid on the present scholarship programs of the provincial government.
Lacwasan added he was also opposed to the proposed increase of tuition at Mountain Province State Polytechnique State College.
