Cops nab studes for boarding house theft

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three students of the Mountain Province State Polytechnique College were arrested here early morning of June 9 for theft.

The suspects were identified as Ezny Lloyd Licpaen Wadingan, 22, single and Steve Afangka Bulanit, 23, both natives of Barangay Ankileng, Sagada, Mt. Province and Criminology students at the MPSPC; Ben Bacgalang Dagiw-a, 22, single , nursing student of Barangay Nacagang, Sagada.

Bontoc police chief Insp. Marcial Labadchan Fa-ed responded to a report from a concerned citizen that suspicious male persons were seen entering a boarding house owned by a certain Pomeg-as situated at Barangay Lower Caluttit wherein responding policemen noticed one of the suspects coming out of the boarding house thrwing a plastic bag suspected to contain loot items on a trash box.

Police got the bag which contained a wallet containing documents and ID cards belonging to Lucero Tomas Marcelo who was a victim of theft recorded at the Bontoc police blotter last May 31, one Sagada hand-woven wallet belonging to Dondee Compas Bumal-o of Fairview, Quezon City who was also a victim of theft reflected on the same police blotter and one brown leather wallet owned by Sammy Rod Tawaken Cabran of Quirino Hill, Baguio City who was a victim of theft.

Also recovered from the plastic bag were used blades, one black leather wallet without contents, one green pouch and ten damaged SIM cards.

Another eleven SIM cards were discovered inside the wallets of the suspects when they were brought to Bontoc police station for further investigation.

The recovered SIM cards were owned by victims of cell phone theft, Bukas Bintana Gang or pick pocketing activities.
