SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has, so far, allocated at least P13 million for livelihood projects in Pampanga.

The projects will include far-flung villages and cooperative groups as beneficiaries, according to the Pampanga Public Employment Services Office (PESO).

PESO Manager LuningningVergara is optimistic that the PESO’s partnership with DOLE will even be stronger this year for more opportunities to Kapampangan.

“We wish that the DOLE’s projects would go continuously,” said Vergara.

She said the provincial PESO has been a consistent partner of DOLE in implementing employment and welfare programs for the region.

“Our partnership with DOLE is good because there are many people who were given employment opportunities,” she said.

The Pampanga PESO also conducted a series of job fairs for local and overseas jobseekers.

Livelihood assistance was also extended to other sectors by providing them the opportunity to venture into entrepreneurship and self-employment.

To date, DOLE has given P1 million to the provincial PESO for the TulongPangkabuhayansaAting Disadvantaged Workers or TUPAD program.

It is a project for the disadvantaged workers that will provide short-term wage employment as immediate source of income for the beneficiaries and their families.
