Northern Luzon youth encouraged: Join PMA

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur-
The leadership of the Philippine Army urged the youth in northern Luzon to join
the Philippine Military Academy and have a promising career as an officer of
the government forces.
The army’s Northern
Luzon Command said the youth of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and
Cordillera regions should grab the opportunity considering they are located
near the PMA in Baguio City.
NOLCOM said applicants
will join in Air Force, Amy or Navy after passing the PMA entrance exam
scheduled on August 26.
In
a statement, NOLCOM said the exam is open to all Filipino citizens aged 17
to 22 years old by April 1, 2013, single (never been married), at least 5’0’’
tall both for male and female and not exceeding 6’4.”
Applicants must also be
at least a high school graduate, of good moral character, no pending
administrative or criminal case and physically and mentally fit for active
military service.
NOLCOM said those
who are interested and qualified must submit a fully accomplished application
form along with a copy of an authenticated birth certificate and certified true
copy of High School Form 137 to the Office of Cadet Admission of PMA two weeks
prior to the exam date.

The PMA entrance
examination this year consists of algebra and geometry, grammar and
composition, reading and comprehension, verbal, numerical reasoning and pattern
analysis.
It will be held
simultaneously in over 37 venues across the country including the cities of
Baguio, Laoag, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Cabanatuan, Tarlac, San Fernando (Pampanga)
and the towns of Bontoc in Mountain Province and Bayombong in Nueva Vizcaya.
Aspirants who
successfully hurdle the test shall undergo
complete physical and medical examination at the Armed Forces of the
Philippines Medical Center to determine their medical conditions as well as
their psychological and physical readiness to undergo rigorous military
training.
