BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan
denied allegations percentage of the funds for asphalt overlay of Session Road
went to the pockets of certain city officials including him.
“That’s not true, paninira lang iyan, it’s
purely politics” said Mayor Domogan saying the just completed asphalt overlay
markings on the pedestrian lanes have faded away.
Basing on the report of the Department of
Public Works and Highways, there is a need to enhance the roads in the city and
there is no reason why I should oppose the project if it is for the benefit of
the people of Baguio said the mayor.
Domogan said the Session Road asphalt overlay
of the Department of Public Works and Highways was funded by the national
government in which the city has no
control over it.
“The DPWH should review and look at the flaws
of the project,” he said.
The mayor said the public should assess the
allegations of some people so that they will not be misled by erroneous
information.
