6 facing charges for shabu: Cordillera PNP chief orders cops linked to drugs nabbed

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Regional police
director Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong has ordered all station commanders last
week to hit hard and arrest policemen and other law enforcement
agents found in cahoots with illegal drugs operators.
This, after four male
persons including a minor were arrested after illegal drugs were found in their
possession in front of the Greenfields Videoke Bar along the provincial road
here in Barangay San Juan, Tabuk City, Kalinga
Monday night.
Chief
Supt. Benjamin Magalong, regional police director identified the alleged drug
couriers as Jaeven Puyao Dagadag, 25; William Palattao Amoyen, 26; Baylon Ordonio Garcia, 24 and a minor
all residents of this city.
Police
said shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, cellphones and lighters were found on
them.
Also
in Abra, two drug couriers were nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Bowen
Street, Zone 4, Bangued, Abra April 3 by local police and Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency agents.
They were identified as Leonardo B.
Cariño, 34 of Zone 7 and Ruby Mae A. Viado, 28 of Zone 6, both in Bangued.
Both
suspects were reportedly in possession of shabu, P2,700.
Cases are being prepared against the
suspects, for filing in court.
Benguet cops uproot P4M marijuana
CAMP DANGWA, La
Trinidad, Benguet -- A total of P 3, 948, 000.00 worth of fully-grown marijuana
plants were uprooted and burned by operatives of the Benguet composed of the
Provincial Public Safety Company, Bakun and Kibungan Municipal Police Stations
during a five-day eradication operation in the remote areas of two
marijuana-growing communities from March 26 to April 1.
Senior Supt. Rodolfo
Azurin, Jr., director of the Benguet provincial police office, said 9, 640
pieces of fully grown marijuana plants, 400 seedlings and 80 kilograms of dried
marijuana leaves were uprooted and burned in 10 cultivation sites with
an aggregate land area of 1, 743 square meters in the highlands of
Benguet.
On March 26 and 27, a
total of 2,200 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with Dangerous Drugs
Board value of P440,000.00 was destroyed in three separate sites in Sitio
Bolalakaw, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan.
On March 30, some 6,300
pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants valued at P1,260,000.00 were also
destroyed in 4 separate sites in Sitio Tableo, Barangay Badeo ,Kibungan.
Some 140 pieces of
fully grown marijuana plants, 400 pieces of marijuana seedling with an overall
DDB value of P48,000.00 were destroyed in 2 separate sites in Sitio Nakme, Barangay
Kayapa, Bakun on Easter Sunday.
On April 1, 2013, a
total of 1,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants, and 80 kilograms of
dried marijuana leaves with a total value of P2,200,000.00 were destroyed in
Sitio Ca-ang Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, all in Benguet.
Last February, Benguet
police destroyed five hectares of marijuana plantation with 260, 500 fully
grown marijuana plants, 27,800 seedlings, 28 marijuana stalks and 11 kilos
seeds.

B. Magalong, regional police director said the PNP will continue to
sustain intensified campaign against
illegal drugs to seek and wipe out marijuana plantation sites in the region.
