Pangasinan records 60 shootings since January

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan ---The  provincial police  office  here  recorded  at least  60 shooting  incidents  since 2013 and  expects the number  to  increase as local elections near. 
            
Citizens of Pangasinan  are  bothered  with  the  amount of shooting incidents  but the local police says that a majority of the shootings have already been solved, with the rest still under investigation.
           
Supt Ryan Manongdo, spokesperson of the  Provincial Police  Office  said that the  motive  of  the  shooting incidents  are mostly related to land disputes, personal grudges, drugs and love triangles, and are not election related. 
           
Based on police records, the latest shooting incident transpired on Rivera Street in Dagupan City at around 12:40 a.m., March 31 with victim Jenny Fung, 34, sustaining several fatal gunshot wounds.
          
The police tagged her husband, Gerard Fung, as the principal suspect in the slaying. Fung fled after the shooting on board a motorcycle. The incident happened in the home of the Fung couple after a heated argument.
          
Another  victim of gun related violence was Wilito Poblete, 45, businessman and a native of Cabanatuan City but temporarily residing at Barangay Cayucay, Alaminos City. He was shot in the chest while on a foot trail leading to the Bolinao Falls. The victim was rushed to the Sampaloc Community Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
