Bridge linking Ilocos Sur, Mt Province done

CERVANTES, Ilocos Sur  -- The completion of Aluling Bridge here would be a big help to the community not only those living in the area but also to people from Cordillera Administrative Region particularly Mountain Province.

The bridge leads to faster and safer movement of people, goods and products between Regions I and the CAR, according to DPWH Ilocos regional director Veniedo O. Reyes after inspecting the bridge.

Reyes was also grateful to the community in Cervantes and nearby towns on their cooperation which supported the DPWH on the completion of the bridge.

            

The bridge had been an object of contention, being branded as the “longest bridge,” not because it is long, but because it took many years for it to be finished.

            

Be that at it may, Mountain motorists said it was better late than never and now, they can easily travel to the Ilocos Region passing  through it rather than taking the long way to Baguio, then passing through Naguiian Road to reach the Ilocos Region.
