1 dead, 4 hurt in La Union road mishaps

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union -- One person died while four others were injured in separate vehicular accidents here Monday.

Police identified the victim as Emerson Valencia, 22, motorcycle driver. 

His wounded backrider was identified as Michael Dan Caisip, 20; a resident of Barangay Sagayad, San Fernando City, La Union.

Investigation disclosed that the the duo were on-board a motorcycle moving along the road in Barangay Sagayaden when Valencia, the driver, lost control of the vehicle after passing a sharp curve.

They bumped onto a concrete wall beside the road.

Due to the strong impact of the accident, Valencia died on the spot while Caisip was critically hurt and is currently confined in a hospital.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in the accidental collision of two vehicles at the intersection of Barangay Pagdalagan Norte, San Fernando City Monday afternoon.

Police identified the injured as Romeo Ramiscal, 43, driver of the vehicle with plate number WDE-557 and resident of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte; FlorentinaGalisa, 72, also from Bacarra town; and BarillioMunang, 54, the driver of Pajero and resident of Sablan, Benguet.

Follow-up investigations are being conducted on the two accidents.
