BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week signed with
the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) a technical assistance
agreement in behalf of the City Government for its green and integrated
waste water management program.
The City government applied
for ‘technical assistance’ March this year which will be provided out of the
Asian Development Bank Fund (ADB) to CDIA of USD 225,000.00.
The Technical Assistance will be undertaken by consultants chosen by CDIA as per terms and conditions set by the ADB.
As per agreement, the city
government will provide local counterparts financed locally which will assist
consultants chosen by CDIA in carrying out the technical assistance.
A program management office will also be provided by the city including administrative support staff and all facilities available and functional from the start of the project.
The goal of the agreement is
to assess the feasibility of an urban infrastructure investment and develop a
bankable development structure such as the city’s wastewater facility.
Domogan said, “the feasibility study will help
the city identify and develop urban projects which is part of its existing
development plans.”
Signatories to the agreement are CDIA
Philippines Country Coordinator Massimo Petrone, Mayor Mauricio Domogan, City
Environment and Parks Management Officer Cordelia Lacsamana, Councilor Fred
Bagbagen and Councilor Joel Alangsab all in behalf of the City Government. – Paul
