LAGAWE, Ifugao -- A water filtration facility
at Bahawit in this municipality is expected to be completed
soon with P10 million listed in the 2015 national budget under the
allocation of Sen. Chiz Escudero.
The project if completed
will help solve the perennial water problem of this capital town.
With the Ibulao River as its source for water supply, the
project is seen to solve water shortage in the municipality and provide
potable water supply of increasing number of households.
This development came
about following a meeting between the Ifugao Water District
board of directors and Gov. Denis Habawel.
In the meeting, IWD
general manager Marjorie Malingan told the governor the IWD obtained a
loan of P13.2 million for the project.
However, the
amount was not enough to finance the whole project. An additional
P10 million was needed for its completion.
Habawel pledged his
support and immediately made a request to Sen. Escudero for his
assistance, which was granted.
Habawel said the
people of Lagawe are looking forward to completion of the water system by
next year.
