Veggie trading post drug group busted

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Two suspected members of a drug group operating at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post here were nabbed in a night sting operation last week.

Juvenal Azurin, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region identified the suspects as Panda Tambaliwan Riga aka Ngongo and Dimal Tamawi Dimala aka Aga/Maki.

Azurin said, Riga and Dimala were arrested during a buy-bust operation along Km. 5, La Trinidad night of Oct 21.

Seized from the suspects were seven sachets of shabu weighing 33.7999 grams with street value of 85,000 pesos, the buy-bust money, a mobile phone and a white Toyota Fortuner with plate number AKA 6453.

According to Azurin, Boty Riga and Dimala are major players in the illegal drug trade at the vegetable trading post.  -- Larry Madarang
