1 dead, 32 hurt in Benguet road mishap

KIBUNGAN, Benguet -- A woman died while 32 others, mostly students, were injured in an accident here morning of Jan. 20, a belated report said.

Investigation showed the victims were on their way to Bakun town attend a scouting jamboree when their vehicle  (UJV-464) developed mechanical problem and turned over.

JulietaSibayanDanio, 55, head teacher of Palina Elementary School in Kibungan town, died at the scene.

The injured were brought to the Kibungan rural health unit for treatment.

JetsonCayad-an, the driver of the vehicle, surrendered to authorities.
