3 workers buried alive in Bontoc cheat death

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three workers cheated death after they were buried alive by landslide here Monday around 2:15 p.m. here at Sitio Finew, Barangay Samoki.

Around 10 minutes after the landslide, police, Disaster crew and concerned residents responded after being informed of the incident and extricate the three victims identified as Nestor Magkachi Manochon,60; Calsiman Chonchonen Ofo-ob, 19 and James Fomocao Challoy, 52.

Victims were brought to Bontoc General Hospital for medical treatment.

Investigation revealed victims were working on construction site owned by Alfonso Magkachi Kalley, 51, businessman of Barangay Caluttit when the slope above them crumbled and covered them.  

Ofo-ob was admitted at said hospital while Manochon and Challoy were referred to Baguio City for further medical treatment.
