Baguio police chief gets OK of screening committee

BAGUIO CITY – The
city’s screening committee for city police director unanimously voted for
Senior Supt. Ramil L. Saculles as the next chief of Baguio’s Finest.
Mayor Mauricio G.
Domogan, who chaired the 9-man local screening committee, transmitted to the
Police Regional Office (PRO) the selection of Saculles as the next BCPO /City
Director based on the criteria for selection embodied under Administrative
Order No. 057, series of 2017.
Saculles, a member of the Philippine National
Police Academy Class of 1993, garnered an average of 96 percent based on the
criteria contained in the Administrative Order while Senior Supt. Edgar Allan
Okubo garnered an average rating of 88 percent with Senior Supt. David Peredo, Jr.
coming in third with an average rating of 82.5 percent while Senior Supt. Mark
Pespes placed fourth with an average rating of 70 percent.
Senior Supt. Peter
Nabuye, who earlier signified his intention to be interviewed as one of those
in the submitted shortlist, failed to appear during the scheduled screening at
the city mayor’s office.
Aside from Domogan,
screening committee members were City Administrator Carlos M. Canilao, City
Prosecutor Elmer Manuel Sagsago, DILG Baguio Field Office City Director Evelyn
B. Trinidad, City Human Resource Management Officer Augustin P. Laban III,
Peter Ng of the business sector, Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club
(BCBC) president Lita Jane Cadalig, BCBC immediate past president Ramon S.
Dacawi and Councilor Michael L. Lawana.
