20 Baguio b’gays ordered: Liquidate P15-M funds

BAGUIO CITY  – Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan ordered some twenty punong barangays to liquidate more than P15 million livelihood funds that were downloaded to their barangays to prevent the non-release of future assistance to beneficiaries of the government’s livelihood assistance program in the future.

The local chief executive informed the concerned punong barangays to submit to the labor department their complete liquidation reports to avoid being marked in bad standing and to allow more residents to benefit from the livelihood assistance being extended by the agency to concerned barangays.

The local government and various associations were also ordered to liquidate some P8,954,700 in livelihood assistance accessed through the labor department’s livelihood assistance fund under the bottoms up budgeting of the previous administration.

Earlier, Apollo R. Luspian, head of the Baguio-Benguet field office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), sought the assistance of Mayor Domogan for the submission of liquidation reports from the different barangays within the city considering that the livelihood funds accessed by the different associations under the jurisdiction of the said barangays have not yet submitted their required liquidation reports.
