Aide of Isabela gov’s brother shot dead

CAUAYAN, Isabela -- Edwin Cadiz, an aide of Victor Dy, chairman of Barangay San Fermin here and brother of Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy III, was shot by a man who emerged from a red car in front of an automotive center in Barangay Cabaruan at about 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The gunman reportedly took the sling bag of the victim.

Police are still investigating motive of the slay and trying to locate the assassin and mastermind. 

The Dy clan had been the political kingpins of the province over the decades.

 Residents said the slay could have been due to politics, love triangle, business of feud. But police said motive could be established once investigations are complete.
