Thief runs away with P50K from cop’s car

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A
female cop was robbed of P20,000 and valuables worth around P30,000 by a thief
who opened the door of her car in a “salisi operation.”
A police
report said the incident happened around 7:50 a.m. of August 10 here in front
of Blessing’s Laundry Shop, Barangay Pico.
The victim
was identified as SPO2 Nilda Sabiat Lapawon, 39, married, PNP member and a
resident of Barangay Upper Wangal Extension, Wangal.
The suspect
was an unidentified male person wearing white shirt and a backpack.
Investigation
disclosed the victim parked her vehicle in front of the laundry shop to pick up
her laundry. Lapawon together with her companion alighted from the car and
immediately proceeded inside the shop without locking the doors of the
car.
After a few
minutes, the victim came out of the shop to get her bag which she left inside
the car but noticed that it was missing.
The bag
contained P20,000, wallet containing PNP ID, Land Bank ATM card, driver’s
license; pouch containing PSSLAI, AFPSLAI, BSU Coop, BDO, UCCPB passbooks, ring
worth P12,500, necklace worth P6,800.00
with pendant worth P1,700 and a wrist watch worth P2,500.
