6 killed, 3 hurt in Isabela accidents

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – Six persons were killed, while
three others were injured, in separate vehicular accidents in Cabatuan and
Quezon towns in Isabela province on Monday.
Town police chief Maj.
Richard Babaran said during a Bombo Radyo interview four persons died when the
tricycle they were riding in was accidentally hit by a truck in Barangay Del
Pilar, Cabatuan, Isabela at about 3 p.m. Monday.
The four victims who
perished were identified as Wilson Guillermo 56, the tricycle driver; and his
three passengers Jerry Yu, 61; Jalhen Acosta, 19; and Juanita Iglesia, 69.
It was reported that the
truck driven by Marvin de Guzman 35, a resident of Barangay San Pedro,
Mallig, Isabela, was on its way to San Mateo, Isabela from Aurora town when the
accident happened.
The truck reportedly
overtook another vehicle before it accidentally hit the tricycle.
De Guzman is now the
subject of a police manhunt after escaping the accident area.
Meanwhile, Eleazar
Hibaya, 37, and his son Miko were also killed in a motorcycle accident in
Barangay Alunan, Quezon town.
Hibaya’s wife identified
as Jean and their child Niknik and their friend Albert Ocay were hurt.
Capt. Fresiel dela Cruz,
the Quezon town’s chief of police, said the victims were on their way home
after attending the wake of their relatives in Aurora, Isabela when the
accident happened.
