DOH Cordillera: 4 persons sick with Covid-19 get well out of 19

BAGUIO CITY -- Four of the COVID-19
positive patients in the Cordillera Region have recovered from the
deadly disease.
The
Department of Health Cordillera Regional Office in its regular COVID – 19
update, reported that those who have recovered are a 37-year old man from Abra,
61 and 70 year-old women from Baguio City and a 6 year old girl from
Benguet.
Based on 5
p.m., April 2 data of DOH-Cordillera Administrative Region there were at
present 18 positive confirmed cases in the region with 14 admitted in health
facilities. 10 are from Baguio City and two each from the provinces of Abra and
Benguet.
There are 845
Persons Under Investigations in Cordillera, wherein 39 are admitted in health
facilities, 291 under home quarantine and 515 were already discharged.
There were
also 10 deaths among PUIs, nine tested negative while one has a pending
laboratory confirmatory test from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine
(RITM).
Meanwhile,
DOH – CAR OIC Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan in an online media briefing
shared the good news that the Baguio General Hospital and
Medical Center is already accredited by the RITM to conduct COVID -
19 confirmatory testing. It is now conducting an average of 80 to
100 confirmatory test per day.
There
is ample supply of COVID – 19 testing kits with the arrival of
5,000 more units but she clarified that priorities for testing are those PUIs
with moderate to severe symptoms and the health care workers that are taking
care of COVID – 19 patients and other COVID - related health care services.
She also
affirmed that DOH – CAR still has stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs)
for health workers and distribution to health facilities is
being prioritized to those that have COVID – 19 positive cases and urgency of
the need based on their monitoring.
Pangilinan
expressed gratitude to donors that who provided PPEs to health workers and
other front liners.
“I hope and
