PRO-Cor, Napolcom launch PCR Month

BAGUIO CITY -- The Police Regional Office
– Cordillera, in partnership with the National Police Commission, Baguio City
Police Office and City Government of Baguio launched observance of 25th Police
Community Relations Month in a flag-raising ceremony at the Burnham Lake, here.

regional director Editha Puddoc, Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Baguio police
director Col. Allen Ray Co led unveiling of the PCR Month banner.
This year’s
celebration is themed: “Pinag-igting na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya Laban
sa Covid – 19 Pandemya.”
Magalong
urged “continuing partnership of police, citizens and stakeholders in ensuring
a safe and healthy Baguio, amid the extended MGCQ due to the COVID - 19
pandemic.”
Magalong, in
his keynote message, expressed gratitude to the PRO – Cor for being a strong
partner in implementation of Baguio’s control and prevention measures under
Covid community quarantine.
“Without you
we will have a very difficult time implementing the guidelines of the various
community quarantine status,” he said.
“We have kept
the pandemic out of harm’s way, more testing, better contact tracing
methodology, more isolation and better treatment have been done without let
up.”
He added:
“Let it be emphasized in all seriousness- all the precautionary practices that
we have put in place should signify at all times that we, in Baguio really mean
business. At the same time easing down on existing restrictions should not be
viewed as inviting everyone to freely go out at anytime or any purpose other
than what is essential..Under MGCQ, quarantine level pa rin ang siyudad ng
Baguio.”
Pagkalinawan
called on Cordillera police to remain consistent in maintaining peace and order
and in their law enforcement operations amid the Covid pandemic.
He also
advised them to keep their morale and not be affected by negative news or
issues being thrown to the police especially those from outside the region and
continue to show that Cordillera is the home of the most disciplined cops in
the country.
During the
program, Pagkalinawan and Co assisted Magalong and Puddoc in awarding of
Medalya ng Kagitingan to Lt. Col. Maximo Sumeg-ang of BCPO Criminal
Investigation Unit and Medalya ng Papuri to Maj Nicomedes Olarte of BCPO Drug
Enforcement Unit and Capt. Julius Luis of BCPO Station 4.
Also awarded
certificate of appreciation for their support in the city’s program against
Covid-19 were APCO proprietor Richard and Elizabeth Tan, Lady of Mt. Carmel
Montessori School Directress Dona Digna Rosario and Swan Boat president Both
