BANAUE, Ifugao - - Municipal officials here
passed an ordinance mandating the wearing of face shields in
all public transports and workplaces in the municipality to prevent
spread of Covid-19.
Vice Mayor Donald
Mongolnon, the acting municipal mayor approved August 24 the ordinance
authored by Councilor Fermin Haclao, Jr with all members of the Sangguniang
Bayan as co-authors.
“In order to further reduce the risk of transmission and as an additional measure against the COVID-19 and for the safety and protection of all, the wearing of face shields aside from the face mask will be mandatory to all public transport and work places,” the officials stated in the ordinance.

This local law applies
to all workers in public and private sectors and commuters and drivers of
public transportation in the municipality.
Violators will be
reprimanded or warned for the first offense, fine of P300 or one-day community
service for second offense and fine of P600 or two-day community service for
third offense.
For the fourth and
succeeding offenses, penalty is six months imprisonment or upon the discretion
of the court.
Personnel of the
Banaue Municipal Police Station, Covid-19 Task Force, Punong Barangays and
councils will implement the ordinance with assistance of barangay tanods. - PIA
