BAGUIO
CITY – The Camp John Hay Development Corp. (CJHDevCo) has opened a Covid-19
screening facility for tourists in support to gradual opening of tourism
activities in this summer capital.
CJHDevCo chairman and CEO Robert Sobrepeña said the CAP- John Hay Trade and Cultural Center facility will augment the central triage at Baguio Convention Center.
It will facilitate interview and validation of the health declaration of tourists, conduct PCR testing and or rapid antigen test as well as provide tourist assistance like places to visit.
Sobrepeña said this was part of their corporate social responsibility, in partnership with the city government.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said, “We launched the Ridge to Reef Tourism Corridor for visitors from the Ilocos Region and we are glad that CJHDevCo opened this screening facility to supplement the triage at BCC and at Teacher’s Camp.”
The Ridge to Reef tourism bubble attaches Baguio City with La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte (LUPISIN).
Under this, Baguio started accepting visitors from Region 1 in Oct. 2 with safety measures in place.
“We are opening up for economy to bounce back, but rest assured that we go slowly, surely and safely in a calibrated manner, and not to jeopardize the health of our residents and visitors,” Magalong assured.
Travelers must register with their health declaration forms through hdf.baguio.gov.ph and triage protocols are still being required. For domestic tourists they shall register their necessary documents and itineraries at visita.baguio.gov.ph. -- JDP/JBZ-PIA CAR
