Isabela bocap shot dead in SUV; cops still probing

ECHAGUE, Isabela – Police are still trying to solve the killing of a barangay chairman in Cordon town who was found dead inside a sports utility vehicle, an apparent shooting victim, in Purok 1, Barangay Pag-asa, Echague on Oct. 17
Ricardo R. Mencias, barangay chairperson of Barangay Camarao, Cordon town, was found dead inside a white Toyota Fortuner which was parked along the road.
    Police Captain Frances Littaua, information officer of Isabela Provincial Police, said Mencias had a bullet wound in the face.
    The victim was discovered by residents of Barangay Pag-asa, with its chairman immediately calling the attention of the police regarding the incident.
    Police recovered a fired cartridge from a Cal. 45 pistol at the crime scene.
