DOLE hires 800 Kalinga folks

CITY
OF TABUK, Kalinga – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has opened
online application to the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged Worker
(TUPAD) 2 program.
DOLE-Kalinga Head Avelina Manganip said 800 beneficiaries will be provided temporary work under the program giving priority to applicants in TUPAD-1 who were not accommodated.
TUPAD 2 is provided under Bayanihan Act to Recover as One (Bayanihan-2) to assist informal workers who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the program, DOLE has tied-up with the Office of Kalinga Rep. Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang which allotted P5 million for wages.
Those hired will work for 15 days at P350/day this November and December.
TUPAD-2 beneficiaries shall render disinfection work at their residences or perform related jobs that maybe assigned by the local government units.
To hasten the pay-out, salaries will be released at accredited remittance centers, Manganip said. – PIA Kalinga
