Pangasinan village exec shot dead

SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan — A village councilman was gunned down here in Barangay Longos Proper on Monday. Rodrigo Patchita, 54, was on his way to the barangay hall when he was shot by unidentified men in a black Toyota Fortuner.
He died while being treated in a hospital. Police are probing motive of the killing and perpetrators.

Nueva Vizcaya – Vehicles used for public transport without documents were
apprehended by elements of Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board
(LTFRB), Philippine National Police's Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and local
government in anti-colorum operations Thursday all over Region 2 (Cagayan
Valley).
Operations were led by LTFRB regional office
under director Edward Cabase.
Colorum vehicles are private vehicles that operate as PUVs with no registered franchise from the LTFRB.
Another type of colorum are PUVs that do possess permit to operate, but are operating out of their line.

Drug suspect held in Mankayan town
MANKAYAN,
Benguet -- A female drug suspect was arrested here Wednesday after police implemented
search warrant at Sitio Labaan, Tabio. Police identified the suspect as Melody
Mariano Delos Reyes who was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165
(Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).
According to a report from the Benguet provincial police director Col. Reynaldo Pasiwen, the search yielded 25 sachets weighing of 25.8 grams worth P175,440.

Three P1,000 bills and weighing scale were also
confiscated at the area.
Seized items were inventoried at the site witnessed

Delos Reyes and confiscated items were
brought to Mankayan police station.
