TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Some 4,704
senior citizens of this city are set to receive their first semester
social pension from the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) this
month.
City Social Welfare and Development Officer Susana Daluping said each beneficiary will receive P3,000 for the period January-June 2021 at P500 per month.
Regional DSWD personnel will directly distribute the financial aid to the barangays with assistance of CSWDO staff.
Claimants must bring their identification card and should observe minimum health protocols during the pay-out, she said.
Daluping added beneficiaries who were not able to claim their social pensions last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic can claim now.
The social pension granted under the Magna Carta of Senior Citizens is intended for indigent members of the sectors who do not receive similar assistance from other institutions.
Qualified beneficiaries who are not yet covered under the program are encouraged to apply at the local office of senior citizens affairs and bring a certification as indigent and valid identification card. -- PIA Kalinga
