OFWs get livelihood fund from Pangasinan gov’t

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- The provincial government gave livelihood assistance to repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were forced to leave their jobs abroad due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At least 25 qualified OFWs in Burgos town here received P5,000 each from the provincial government as start-up capital for their livelihood.
The OFWs were assisted by First District Board Member Margielou Orange Humilde-Verzosa, Gerardo Rosete who represented Burgos Mayor Ronald Ngayawan, and LGU Burgos OFW Association President Eddie Angeles.
Gov. Amado I. Espino III said helping the OFWs is part of Abig Pangasinan Karaban, a socio-economic recovery program of the province that aims to provide assistance to COVID-19-affected Pangasinenses.
The Abig Pangasinan is making the rounds of the province to provide livelihood opportunities to repatriated OFWs.
