BSU holds face to face student recognition rites

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Benguet State University held its first face-to-face student recognition and achievement program here July 4-5 at the university gymnasium which was stopped more than two years ago due to Covid-19 pandemic.
    Dr. Imelda Olatic Degay, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, said almost 2,000 students were awarded as achievers and the year’s best in their own respective colleges.
    The number doubled from the former numbers of achievers during pre-pandemic time. 
    Students have faced many challenges, especially in the new mode of learning, which was digital mode or online learning beset by lack of online signals, financial burden of consistent loading for data.
    BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila cited in his inspirational message the importance of continuous dreams as dreams happen every time, to always honor the ones behind the names, especially parents as they were the ones who  brought and guided the students.
    Speakers extended their greetings to students for achieving milestones.
    Dr. Veronica M. Bito, a speaker urged graduates that success today is the product of dedication to finish one’s course.
    "Exciting, kasi face to face na ang graduation after three years. I think the advantages of having it is that, every emotion will be entertained as to the presence of our classmates, friends, teachers and our family. It will be more memorable for the communication is not limited as compared to online," said Valery Bugtong, a 3rd year DevCom student achiever.
