Cop shot dead in Isabela town

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A policeman was gunned down in Isabela on Thursday.

Cpl. Marnix Baquiran, a resident of Peñablanca, Cagayan and assigned in Reina Mercedez in Isabela, was driving to the police station in his Toyota Fortuner when his vehicle was shot several times.

He died at the scene.

Police are investigating perpetrators and motive of the ambush-slay.
