12 arrested for drugs in Cordillera; P115-M marijuana destroyed

CAMP DANGWA,
La Trinidad, Benguet – Twelve drug personalities were arrested while
P115,192,000 worth of marijuana plants were destroyed July 24-30.
The police Regional Operations Division records bared Baguio City Police Office recorded highest number of arrests with 10, followed by Abra Provincial Police Office and Benguet PPO with one each.
Nabbed in Baguio were David Bitao, 49; Jefferson Abor, 44; Marco Muleta, 29; Gerry Vic Bautista, 47; Albert Espiritu, 39; Johnson Segundo, 32; Edgar Zuñiga, 34; Darwin Dariano, 48; Jose Casauay, 42; and a 16-year-old male minor.
In Abra and Benguet, arrested were Clarence Bona, 28 and Modesto Licudan, 59, respectively.
Anti-illegal drugs operations resulted in seizure of 18.32 grams of suspected shabu worth P124,576 and confiscation of 0.10 grams of marijuana leaves worth P12.00.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, police marijuana eradication drives resulted in destruction of 573,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P114,600,000 in Kalinga.
In Benguet, 2,960 fully grown marijuana plants worth P592,000.00 were destroyed by police.
