2,031 Cordillera cops promoted

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet — A total of 2,031 newly promoted police officers
of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera took their oath in a ceremony held
simultaneously with different Police Offices in the Cordillera region on
Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director, administered the oath-taking and presided over the donning and pinning of ranks of the newly promoted officers in Camp Major Bado Dangwa.
Of the 2,031 promoted personnel, 219 are Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 1,812 are Police Non-commissioned Officers (PNCOs).
For the PCO positions, five were promoted to Police Major, 191 to Police Captain, and 23 to Police Lieutenant.
For the PNCOs, 90 were promoted to Police Executive Master Sergeant, 189 to Police Chief Master Sergeant, 156 to Police Senior Master Sergeant, 257 to Police Master Sergeant, 363 to Police Staff Sergeant, and 757 to Police Corporal.
Bazar said personnel underwent a series of screening processes conducted by the PROCOR Promotion Board wherein only 2,031 police officers from all the qualified applicants for promotion in the Cordillera region successfully surpassed the meticulous process set forth by the CY 2022 Regular Promotion Program.
Joining the Regional Director in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet were the 66 promoted from the Regional Head Quarters, 147 promoted from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and 323 from the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) who physically attended the ceremony at the PROCOR Parade Grounds.
The 323 promoted personnel from Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO); 122 from Apayao PPO; 289 from Baguio City Police Office; 244 from Ifugao PPO; 330 from Kalinga PPO; and 187 from Mountain Province PPO joined the ceremony virtually from their respective units.
Bazar congratulated all the newly promoted personnel for achieving a new milestone in their career as police officers.
“The new ranks laid on your shoulders manifest the significance of your well-earned promotion and comes with great responsibility to serve and protect our people. Do your best and be an example as a law-abiding citizen,” Bazar added.
The ceremony is part of the nationwide simultaneous mass oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks for 2nd Level Uniformed Personnel promoted under CY 2022 Regular Promotion Program.
